The brief

Oceans Events were commissioned to work with Bathstore to promote the brand, increase footfall through store and create a bespoke exhibition stand to display their products. They had exhibited previously, but none of their stands had been reusable and they were looking for a more sustainable setup that could be reused. Oceans Events designed the concept, then built and managed the exhibition stand which showcased at least 10 bathroom suites and walk-in showers at numerous exhibitions in 2007 and 2008.

The activity

Over a two year period, we managed all of Bathstore’s exhibition activity which included negotiating the space at numerous major exhibitions such as Grand Designs Live and BBC Good Home Show, providing the promotional staff to engage with consumers and hand out merchandise, rigging and de-rigging the stand and the management of brand partnerships. We secured an opportunity for Bathstore to sponsor the Great British Duck Race, a charity race event where people sponsored a rubber duck to race down the River Thames, with the winners receiving a prize donated by the sponsoring companies. Oceans Events designed and managed Bathstore’s experiential zone which was a major attraction at the event.  In 2008, we successfully set up sponsorship and partnership deals with the O2, L’Occitane, Patently Obvious and Crabtree & Evelyn which created great brand exposure for all parties involved.

  • £150 – 200k worth of sales were made at each exhibition
  • Over ½ million consumers were reached over a two year period
  • More than 70,000 goodie bags were distributed in 2007 & 2008

The extensive exhibition activity and sponsorship deals carried out by Bathstore has massively enhanced consumer perception of the brand and their high street presence continues to grow at a rapid rate.
